The Lip Augmentation Procedure
A lip augmentation procedure performed with dermal filler injections can typically be completed in our Chicago office. A fat transfer lip injection may require a short outpatient procedure in a surgical suite.
Fat Transfer Lip Augmentation — During this procedure, fat will be extracted using a liposuction procedure. The fat will then be treated and injected into the lips to make them appear fuller and more aesthetically pleasing. Swelling may take several weeks to subside, at which point you can see and appreciate your final results.
Dermal Filler Lip Augmentation — Dr. Ogilvie will use specially formulated dermal fillers to act as a volumizing and lip-defining agent. Anesthetic is not required for these injections and patients are allowed to resume normal activities immediately following the procedure. Results, also, should be immediately noticeable. Dermal filler injections will typically last between 6-12 months.
